This limited edition Bottle no 70 / 150 was commissioned for S. H Jones to commemorate 150 Years 1848 – 1998. 46% Abv

Colour: Straw.

Nose: With a fatness – and yet an elegance – that’s just thrilling. Olives, clay, lemon, brine, and all that. With water: Intensely mineral, waxy, lemony, ‘natural’ (raw wool, barley)… Well, it’s just stupendously barleyish.

Mouth (neat): So perfect, so immensely mineral and medicinal, so amazingly herbal and lemony… With water: Notes of lemon, perhaps a little tea and tobacco, a little aniseed and fennel, hints of grapefruit juice and green olive.

Finish: Very long, admirably perfect.

Comments: Simply grand cru stuff.
