This single cask expression from Allt a’Bhainne distillery in Speyside was distilled in May 1993 and matured in a refill barrel for 24 years before bottling in September 2017. Only 122 bottles have been produced by Hunter Laing & Co for the Old Malt Cask series, each one at a strength of 50% abv.

Nose: Marzipan, plum and toffee.

Palate: Caramel, green grass and apple.

Finish: Medium length with sweet notes lingering.

Distillery Information

Allt-A-Bhaine is a rather young Malt whisky distillery near Dufftown in the Speyside region. It was built to supply the Blended Whiskys of the Chivas Brothers. The Allt-A-Bhainne whisky was meant to serve as one of the lead malt whiskies in the Chivas Regal blends. So you will find the products of the distillery in Chivas Regal, Passport and 100 Pipers. Today there are no original bottlings of Allt-A-Bhainne. You will only find independent bottlings that carry the name of the distillery.
