Ardbeg Grooves, a whisky that has been laid down in wine casks, intensely charred to produce heavy grooves on the surface of the wood. The result is a whisky aromatic with smoked spices and distant bonfires, sweet vibes of vanilla popcorn and smoky soot.

And for this Limited Edition bottling, we’re rolling back the years to an Islay time gone by – back to village of Peat & Love. Produced using our grooviest casks ever, aromas of smoked spices combine with distant bonfires fading into a mellow haze of apple and smoked pear. Ardbeg Grooves – It’s just good vibes…and good whisky, man. Non chill-filtered at 46.0% ABV.

Ardbeg Grooves Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Freshly squeezed orange, simmering smoke, distance butterscotch, and candied lemon. Lots of salty brine on the exhale especially. Lavender is there, but it comes and goes.

Palate: Surprisingly levels of char on the palate, great oak spice, roaming dried fruit and baking spice flavours. Surprisingly smoked paprika spice in the middle and back of the palate, that’s complimented by buttery and tangy notes. Those tangy notes (mustard?) deny expand to the finish, as does the buttery notes.

Finish: A nice mouthfeel with some pepper spice, a lingering toffee sweetness slowly fading into a pleasant smoky smoldering fire – if any slight weakness when comparing the nose-taste-finish, in my opinion, it is on the finish.

Ardbeg Distillery is a Scotch whisky distillery in Ardbeg on the south coast of the isle of Islay, Argyll and Bute, Scotland, in the Inner Hebrides group of islands. The distillery is owned by Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, and produces a heavily peated Islay whisky.
