Sweet meets peat here with another bottling from BenRiach’s 16th batch of single cask released. This is a peated single malt, distilled in January 2007 and allowed to age in a rum barrel for a dozen years before being bottled in 2019. A small outturn of just 198 bottles.

Nose: Jamaican rum truffles and cocoa beans with coconut milk, chocolate cake and a touch of sea salt.

Palate: Cocoa beans, rum and raisin ice cream and cappucino.

Finish: Long and smooth with rum-laced espresso coffee.

The BenRiach distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in the Speyside area of Scotland. It is currently owned by Brown-Forman Corporation after being purchased on 1 June 2016 as a subsidiary from the BenRiach Distillery Company Limited, formed by two South African funding partners, Geoff Bell and Wayne Keiswetter, and Scotch whisky expert Billy Walker.
