Limited to just 9,000 bottles worldwide this 13 year old Campbeltown single malt is a limited edition from Springbank, the region’s oldest operational distillery. Unpeated and triple-distilled, this expression has been matured in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 47.4% abv.
Hazelburn 13 Year Old Sherry Wood Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich dark chocolate and rose petals with ginger biscuits and freshly brewed espresso.
Palate: Fresh cream and strawberries with Turkish Delight, clotted cream, marzipan, strawberry jam and walnuts.
Finish: Sticky toffee pudding and coffee liqueur with some fruity notes and a touch of black pepper.
Distillery Information
Hazelburn Distillery was a distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland, which was in operation between approximately 1825 and 1925. In 1886, it had 22 employees and produced 192,000 gallons of whisky per year, making it the largest distillery in the town. The distillery was bought by Mitchell & Co. in 1920, but shut down in 1926. Mitchell & Co. owned two other distilleries, including Springbank Distillery. Since 2005 Springbank Distillery bottles a whisky called Hazelburn Single Malt.
