Here they have a pretty special dram, and it’s the 2018 release and third batch in the highly sought after Rare Cask series from The Macallan. Much like its predecessor, batch three is comprised of whisky drawn from 50 European oak sherry butts. The stunning amber liquid was bottled at 43% ABV, and is presented in a very handsome decanter.

Nose: Aromas of vanilla, raisins, apples and sweet citrus.

Palate: The palate offers warming notes of oak, vanilla and chocolate.

Finish: A lighter, citrus led finish.

Distillery Information

The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray. The Macallan Distillers Ltd, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Edrington Group which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999.
