You can’t improve on the perfect… and yet! Planteray XO 20th Anniversary Rum has long been one of the most popular rums in the world, and now the team at Planteray has further developed the recipe. It has been named PXXO, and as you may have guessed, the extra capitals refer to Pedro Ximenez , a sweet sherry type of the grape of the same name.
The rum is distilled at the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados in both pot and column stills. The blend consists of “extra old rums” aged in both new casks, bourbon casks and Ferrand casks, first in the tropics and then in France. Finally, a finish in the sherry casks puts the finishing touches.
Color : Mahogany.
Aroma : Sweet and spicy scent of coconut and vanilla, followed by honey-like notes, English Christmas cake, tobacco and banana.
Tasting notes : Big, full and sweet on the tongue. Notes of coconut, chocolate, prunes and coffee.
Serving suggestion : Should be enjoyed neat.
