After an initial maturation in American Bourbon barrels, the BenRiach 15 Year Old Madeira Finish is finished in Madeira wine casks from the Portuguese island of Madeira. During maturation the Whisky acquires characteristics specific to the casks that have previously contained sweet and complex Madeira wine. The result is this limited edition drammer with its very unique Madeira finish that is an absolute must-try if you are into something completely different.

The BenRiach 15 Year Old Henriques & Henriques Madeira Wood Finish Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Watermelon, mangoes, stewed fruit, wax, hints of banana and liquorice.

Palate: An avalanche of butterscotch, with eucalyptol freshness, barley sugar and herbs. A thick mouth-feel.

Finish: Moderate to long with hints of chocolate on the tail.

Distillery Information

The BenRiach distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in the Speyside area of Scotland. It is currently owned by Brown-Forman Corporation after being purchased on 1 June 2016 as a subsidiary from the BenRiach Distillery Company Limited, formed by two South African funding partners, Geoff Bell and Wayne Keiswetter, and Scotch whisky expert Billy Walker.
