WM Cadenhead Enigma 27 Year Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Rich and intense aromas of campfire smoke, sea salt, and medicinal peat, complemented by subtle hints of citrus peel, vanilla, and dark chocolate.

Palate: A robust and layered experience with flavors of smoky peat, brine, and charred wood balanced by sweet notes of honey, caramel, and dried fruit. Undertones of black pepper and roasted nuts add further complexity.

Finish: Exceptionally long and warming, with lingering notes of oak, smoked herbs, and a touch of spiced toffee.

Distillery Information

George Duncan established himself as a Vinter and as a distillery agent. There business prospered and in a little over ten years he was joined by his brother-in-law Mr William Cadenhead. Cadenhead acquired the business in 1858 and, as was common at the time, he changed the trading name to that of his own.
